HTC Desire C Has Proven Every Mobile Manufacturers Wrong

Had you recently  heard  about a phone from HTC called the   "Desire C"? Yap, you heard it right. I really don't know what the "C" stands for but according to me, it's "Cheap". Its the cheapest HTC phone running on Android 4.0.3 and Sense 4.0 .

If you look at the specification of this mobile, you will literally be shocked (if you are a gadget freak). Ok then. let's have a look at its specs first before we jump to conclusions.

Name                     : HTC Desire C

Operating System: Android 4.0

Camera                 : Primary - 5MPg

Processor              : Single Core 600 MHz Processor

Memory(RAM)      : 512 MB

Storage                 :  Internal 4GB, Micro SD card up to 32GB

Display                 : 3.5 inch  (320*480)

                                 Pixel Density : 165ppi

Weight                   :100grams

Colour                    : White and Black

Battery                   :Standard battery, Li-Ion 1230 mAh

To everyone's surprise, even with its too low hardware specification  this device runs on Sense 4.0 smoothly. That's point No.1 to keep at the other phone manufacturer mouth shut. Whenever we hear about updates, the manufacturers deny to update their "Old Phones" saying that their hardware doesn't meet the requirement. But looks like that's not the case.

It's time the mobile users stand up and protest to get  the updates for their mobile. Also, it's time for Mobile manufacturers to realize that they lose nothing when they update their own "old" siblings. I am sure most of you feel pretty bad when you get notified that        "Your phone is outdated and won't be updated." Nobody wants to hear this. People now know the fact that their phone is capable of update yet aren't updated. This is a serious problem for high-end mobile users. People don't want their mobile to get old too fast.

Here is a list of mobile which was very much capable of Ice-Cream Sandwich Update yet are notified that they won't be updated!

  • Sony Ericsson Xperia Play
  • HTC Desire Z
  • Motorola Atrix
  • Motorola Motolux
  • Motorola Pro
  • Samsung Galaxy Ace
  • Samsung Galaxy W
  • My Slide Touch 4g
From recent figures, I have learnt, specification is just an excuse for not letting go off an "update". You don't need to worry if your mobile is not in the list of official update. You can always use a custom rom if you want to and there are a lot of those in the internet. I recommend you this site if you are looking for a custom rom" www.xda-developers.com" . It surely has it all. Stay tuned for more news!

iPhone 4s Siri VS Samsung Galaxy SIII S-Voice

iPhone 4s's Siri sure is awesome. It is the next generation voice assistant software which works pretty well. It make not be as accurate as talking to a human but can answer almost all your answers with ease if your accent is enough. To be honest, it is 100% usable if you are in United States of America because it is the only place where it shows you the place where you want to visit. For eg, A five star hotel or a club for instance.

Along with the iPhone's Siri, we have a new voice assistant in town. The new competitor is from Samsung (Samsung Galaxy SIII) and its named S-Voice. The S-Voice may not be as mature as the iPhone's Siri but we were quite impressed with what we saw. But we will have to remember that S-Voice has just come out and still is in beta. Who knows if after a few weeks or a few months, S-Voice may take over Siri as well. To date, S-Voice is far better than all the digital voice assistant found in Google's Play Store. So, we can fairly say that S-Voice the best digital voice assistant for Android Platform.

It may not surprise you all when I say that Siri has quite well taken its place in field of "Virtual Assistant" but that doesn't mean that we won't have anyone new substituting Siri's place.Siri can do what S-voice can do and they pretty much do the same thing. But when it comes to speed, accuracy and understanding, Siri has the upper hand. But you will be surprised to know that S-Voice can answer more than Siri which means S-Voice has a bigger database of facts.
For instance, we had asked Siri and S-Voice both, "Who is the president of France?" and to our surprise S-Voice was the only one with the answer. Both of them are good but in present situation Siri wins by miles!

Google's Chromium OS

Did you guys hear about "Google's Chromium OS"? It may not have been advertised very much but it sure has gained a lot of publicity. It is the lightest operating system that I have ever experienced It takes only 7 to 8 second to boot up your Pc/Laptop with this awesome operating system. The requirement of this operating system isn't very high either. Any basic computer with 512MB of RAM can run this OS smoothly.

To be honest its not a operating system as you may expect it to be. It is nothing like Windows or Mac OS. It's completely different. Then how is it? It's simply a web browser. Surprised? Really, it's just a web browser with everything inside it. Very interesting, isn't it?

Chromium OS is still in it's BETA's. So, it isn't fully complete. There are many cool stuff you can perform with this OS. The best thing about this OS is that it is faster then the fastest. If you are using it in your laptop, then it's even better because you battery will run thrice as more. It's because the OS isn't heavy at all. For instance, it doesn't need antivirus running in background nor does it need its graphics card using aero feature and the list is never ending. If you use your PC/Laptop just for browsing on the Internet, then this OS is going to be a gift from heaven. But, if you use other PC features like Photoshop and if you are a hardcore PC gamer, this OS just isn't right for you. If you are an officer who uses Microsoft Office, this OS isn't that great either as it doesn't contain Microsoft package in it's operating system nor can it be installed via third party installer. It's more or less like a small part of an operating system. But hopefully it's still on progress.

Google has tried to make their operating system very simple and easy to use. Even if you don't want this operating system to be your first priority, you can keep it as your second option. I said this because this operating system can be kept in your pen drive(Portable hard disk or any other storage device) and can be used to boot your PC/Laptop. If you don't like it remove the pendrive and you can use your previous OS. IT's as simple as that.

If you look closely, this OS isn't bad either because if I recall properly, browsing web is what we do most and this OS is especially designed to browse on the internet. Really, what more can we ask for? They have been frequently updatind and improving this OS by fixing bugs and adding new features such as capability to install applications and games. If this OS is developed properly, it may one day be a leading OS as well. That day sure isn't very far way. The "Google men" are still trying to do best and bring forward a free bootable all-in-one OS.

Below, I have enlisted the pros and cons of the Chromium Operating System:

Pros:
  1. Great booting time (only 7 seconds!)
  2. Easy to use
  3. Virus Free
  4. Battery economical
  5. Doesn't require large hard-disk
  6. Runs pretty well on old PCs(has very low specification requirement)
  7. Best OS for Web Browser
  8. Doesn't require local hard-disk
  9. Portable(Can be taken anywhere using Pendrive)
  10. Global data sharing
Cons:
  1. Still in Beta
  2. Doesn't support Microsoft Office
  3. Nod good at all for hardcore Gamers and Application Users
  4. Very limited Application Library
  5. Limited only with Browser
  6. Not ideal for places with slow Internet Connectivity
  7. Useless for people without Internet
  8. Cannot use hardware resources even if they are excellent
  9. Still has some bugs
  10. Security is questionable
The Chromium OS is  innovative and is also a great concept. If web browser is all we use, why not make web browser our Operating System? This OS is just great for Net-Books and Laptops. Stay tuned and you won't be disappointed.Don't forget to keep your finger crossed!

Is It Worth Buying High-End Gadgets?

Everyone loves new technology and everyone loves having up-to-date gadget with all the inbuilt goodies. But the question is can we cop up with the pace? Today, I buy a smartphone which was just released yesterday but then after a year will it be even called "A awesome phone"? Ask it for yourself and then you will find the answer. We shouldn't even wait for a year because the fact is that a new gadget comes now and again everyday. The fact doesn't change that we can't afford to buy new gadgets every time they come into the market (unless you are a billionaire).

The market/gadget producing industry is getting bigger and better everyday. The new products come out frequently. Once you buy a gadget today, you can expect a better and smarter version to come out tomorrow. Let's say for instance, several years ago, I used to feel proud to own a 21 inch CRT TV because it was the latest technology at that time. And then came the LCD technology. I said very fine and bought a 26 inch LCD TV. Then came the LED TV, Smart TV, 3D TV and then I finally realized that I can't compete with the technology. I can't have it all. It's not only with the TV, if you look it's the same with alll the other gadgets as well. It's the same with the Computers,Gaming Consoles(XBOX,PS,Wii), Smartphones, Speakers, DVD/BlueRay, Routers, and every other gadget.

Boost WiFi Signal Reception from your Router

Are you tired of losing WiFi signal reception even when the wireless router is around you. Does your neighbor have wireless router and you know the password but still due to low signal reception, you are not being able to use it? Do you always have to stick around your wireless router? Does your router throws signal in places where it is not necessary? If these are your problems then I can say that I can help with ease.

1) Official Firmware Update
I would like to say that if your device has official firmware update via Internet, I would recommend you to do that. Firmware updates can also boost your WiFi Signal significantly. Before the update you will have WiFi 802.11g and after the update, you will have 802.11n (which is the latest). You can simply do this by going to your router's profile by typing 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. Then, under Administration you will find  "Update your router" option and follow the instruction accordingly.

2) Position your Wireless Router in Proper Place
It may sound funny to you all but the fact doesn't change that if you proper position your Wireless router, you can get heavy signal boost. For instance, if you keep your router near metallic object and has to pass through several walls before reaching you (Your WiFi Device), you will get very weak signal. So, keep the router in a place as high as possible where there are less obstacles.  The less the obstacles, the better signal you will get. Also avoid microwaves and cordless phone as they use the same frequency.

3) Change your Router's Channel
You all may not know about changing your router's WiFi channel but this too help to improve your wireless network devices signal. All your have to do is go to your router's home page. Then, go to "Wireless Setup" and change your "Channel No.". You will find channel from 1 to 13. The channel number doesn't change your bandwidth speed. Try to keep your channel as unique as possible. Look out for other wireless networks and check out on which channel they are running. If all the wireless network run on the same channel, you will get slower speed as there are chances of mixing up of networks. So, use different/unique channel for your router.

4) Buy Stronger Antenna
The better and longer your antenna, the more signal it will give to your WiFi Device. You can buy Antennas according to your need (Omni-Directional or Bi-Directional) at ebay.com or amazon.com.
You also get WiFi boosters but they are pretty expensive. The antennas you buy should be compatible with your router. So, check well before purchasing the Antenna.

5) Build your own WiFi Booster

The other thing you can do  is build your own WiFi booster. It's pretty simple and very effective. Believe me, I got up to 40% signal boost by using this technique. To make this possible there are a number of things that are required out of which most of them are easily available. So, here are the things that you will need in order to boost your Wi-Fi Signal :

  • A Wireless Router
  • Wireless Receiver/Adapter (Most of the laptops and mobiles now a days have them inbuilt)
  • A pair of Scissor
  • Tape/Glue
  • Aluminium Foil

Download WindSurfer Template from Google Search.Resize the template using either MS Word, Paint etc. The bigger the size of WindSurfer the better will be the Wi-fi signal strength and range.
Once you have done the resizing, print the template.

Now stick a cardboard behind the template, the cardboard must not be too hard use something that is flexible like a calender etc. After you've stuck the cardboard, cut out the two parts. The first part will be the one which says "WindSurfer" and the second part will say "FreeAntennas.com".Stick aluminum foil to the second part.

Now cut slits in the second part using a knife. Then insert the slots from First Partinto the slits. Use sticky tape and tape them nicely.
Finally pinch two holes where a plus sign appears.

There you go its done. place the WindSurfer on your WiFi antenna and check your Wifi Signal, you'll find an increase in signal bars.

Follow these simple tips and boom you will get significant signal boost for your Wi-Fi Device.

iPhone 4s Review

The legend(iPhone) is back but this time it has simply gone more powerful than ever. The all new iPhone 4s is the 5th generation iPhone which is powered by 1 Ghz dual core Apple A5 processor which is the same processor used in the iPad 2. The graphics is 7 times better than the iPhone 4. iPhone 4s's dual core processor is what makes this device seriously fact. It runs an iOS 5.x.x (with updates coming frequently). One great feature of this device a voice recognizing software 'Siri'. To be, it's your virtual assistant who has answer to all your question . We has never seen any thing like this before .Also, iPhone 4s has a 8mp camera capable of 1080p HD video recording . Even the camera is very fast .It takes the friction of second to take a snap shot. With is its single LED flash , users don't have to worry about clicking photos in dark places.

So, here is the specification of the iPhone 4s.
  • Name : iPhone 4s
  • Operating System: iOS 5.0.1 (5.x.x)
  • Camera : Primary - 8MP with 1080p Video Recording
  • Front- VGA with 480p Video Recording
  • Processor : Dual-Core 1GHz A5 Processor Cortex-A9
  • Memory(RAM) : 512 MB
  • GPU : PowerVR SGX543MP2
  • Storage : Internal 16GB, 32GB and 64GB
  • Display : 3.5 inch IPS (640*960) with Retina Display
  • Pixel Density : 330ppi
  • Body : Dimension- 115.2 x 58.6 x 9.3 mm
  • Weight :140grams
  • Colour : White and Black
  • Battery :Standard battery, Li-Po 1432 mAh

Design

The design of the iPhone 4S is identical to the design of the iPhone 4. Surprisingly , even the iPhone 4s weights same as the iPhone 4 .The design is however very beautiful & attractive .Having a glass in its back makes it even more attractive .But the phone somewhat thick(9.8mm) in comparison to its rivals .In the front , we have a 3.5 inch retina display having a resolution of 960x480.On the top front, there is a front facing camera capable of 720p hd video recording . On the bottom of the screen, we have a physical back bottom. The left side of the device has a button which is use to toggle device to silent mode from general mode and vice versa. On the right, there is a physical volume rocker key. There is no dedicated camera shutter button. On the top, we have lock/power off button & we have dual speaker placed below along with the 32 pins USB connector use for charging & data transfer.
On the back of phone, we have a 8mp camera with the LED flash. There is also Apple logo on the back of the device. That's all about the design of this beast. It may not be the best of the best but it surely is good enough to catch one's eyes.

Display
As mention earlier , iPhone 4s has 3.5 inch display with pixel density of 330ppi. It has resolution of 640*960. Text is very good viewing the angles aren't bad either the only disappointing factor is that iPhone 4s still has a 3.5inch screen while most of the other smart phone has screen size larger than 4 inch. The iPhone 4s have capacitive touch screen with multi-touch.The amazing thing is that the phone can read all your five finger at a time. It may not really be usable but it sure is fun. Touches are very responsive and are almost always accurate. But if you have a big hand, you may have difficulty in typing in portrait mode. Apart from that, we had no problem with the display. We hopefully will get bigger screen in next generation of iPhone.

Operating System ( iOS )
iOS is the operating system only used by Apple products. So, it sure is different from the other operating system but iOS gives you certain limitations. Your iPhone 5 most probably is running on iOS 5.0.1 (which is the latest until now). It is the successor of the iOS 4.x.x. There are no major changes apart from that it has notification window and "Siri"( I will be talking about it after a while in this post) You will notice that it still is the same. Scrolling through the menu hasn't changed since years. There are no homescreens yet which also mean that you don't have accessibility to the Widgets. Apart from the applications, you won't find anything interesting in the iOS 5.

The iOS 5.x.x may not have homescreens and may not be as customizable as Android devices but the OS sure is fast and very responsive. We rarely get freezes or phone restarts. It is also not a power hungry operating system. The dual core processor for this phone is just more than enough. Application run smoothly on this device.

Camera

PHOTO
The iPhone 4s's camera is one of the best 8MP camera seen in a smartphone. The back facing 8MP clicks truly amazing photos. Also, beside the camera, there is a LED flash light for capuring photos in dark areas. It is packed will all camera goodies like Touch focus, geo-tagging,Face detection, HDR ,etc. Although, you don't get a dedicated camera shutter button, the on-screen shutter button isn't that bad either. The camera also autofocus when required. The Camera takes snapshots very quickly. You won't miss the moments that you want to capture. The camera talkes 1.1 second to take a photo initially and 0.5 seconds. The camera interface is pretty much the same as before with a few options added on the viewfinder - a viewfinder grid, an HDR setting, pinching gesture for digital zoom and swipe gesture for quick gallery access.

VIDEO (CAMCORDER)
The back facing camera shoots 1080p HD Videos. HD Videos looks stunning both on the phone and your HD TV. The videos are very impressive. 10 second HD(almost 31MB)showed us that the details are very good and the sound quality is good (not best) as well. The iPhone 4S records 1080p videos and the clips are stored in .MOV format with a 23Mbps bitrate. Videos are shot at a smooth 30fps most of the time but he framerate drops to 26fps when the lighting isn't good. Still, the videos turned out to be good.  The drawback is that you can't change the recording resolution from 1080p to 720p with the default application. If you record a 1080p HD video for 10 minutes, it takes upto 1.8GB! Apart from that I claim that the iPhone 4s camcorder is the best out there in Smarphone industry.

FRONT FACING CAMERA
The  iPhone 4s's front facing camera is a VGA camera which can record 480p videos at 30 frames per second. The front facing camera is where iPhone 4s disappoints you. Even Samsung Galaxy S2 has 2MP front facing camera. If not 2 MP , 1.3 MP would be good too. Also, no HD video recording through your front facing camera. Further, you cannot video chat via 3G network. The video chatting is enabled only over Wi-Fi. These limitations hopefully will be removed in an update.

Processor
The iPhone 4s uses the processor same as the iPad 2. It's a dual core 1 GHz Apple's A5 processor which pumps power to this beast. Unlike the earlier versions of the iPhone, the iPhone 4s's processor is very efficient and consumes very little battery except while playing games or using heavy applications. The dual core processor is what makes this device very fast. You won't face any lags. The GPU used in the iPhone 4s is PowerVR SGX543MP2 which has graphics 7 times better than the iPhone 4. The boot times have improved as well. Applications load up much faster. None of the games are choppy. All the Gameloft's HD games could be played without any glitches. Even the camera is a lot faster just because if this powerful processor. As iOS doesn't need much processing power, the dual core processor is what we are very much satisfied with.

Siri
One of the major improvement of iPhone 4s over iPhone 4 or any other device is a Apple owed software called "Siri". It is a digital assistant who responses to your speech more or less like human. Honestly, this is the very first digital assistant who recognizes our speech very well and responds accordingly. It may not be usable for all ( People with no Wi-Fi, slow internet or people without recognizable accent) but it sure is a good way to input data. Fast and efficient, SIRI surely impressed us all. This exclusive software answers all your questions including mathematical solutions (2+2=4). This is a voice assistant to the next level. It may be good but still isn't 100% usable. It sometimes mis understands your input.Siri, to be honest isn't quite usable outside the U.S. because it can pin-point places and many other things only in the U.S. so, it sure has limitations. Still, it's a sweet feature to carry around with you.

Battery
The iPhone 4s may not have largest of the battery like the Motorola Razr Maxx. It is packed with Li-Po 1432 mAh battery. Although it may sound a bit little to you all, iOS itself doesn't consume a lot of battery, so we can say that this device gives us decent battery back up. Not too good nor too disappointing when it comes to battery life. If you are a hardcore gamer, the battery is going to be drained very quickly else it will last for a day under normal usage. We hear some bugs about the battery life of iPhone 4s but they are being patched by Apple itself. We had expected a larger battery but this isn't too disappointing either.

Here are the Pros and Cons of the iPhone 4s:
ADVANTAGES
  • iOS 5 with iCloud integration
  • Scratch-resistant glass front and rear, with fingerprint-resistant coating
  • Voice recognition, Siri virtual assistant
  • 1080p video recording at 30fps

  • No Stereo Speakers
  • Has only VGA front facing Camera
  • Siri only fully functional in U.S
  • iTunes required for data/content transfer
  • No NFC (Near Field Technology)
Conclusion

The iPhone 4s surely is a great phone but isn't the best. If you already have a iPhone 4, then I wouldn't recommend you to purchase iPhone 4s. But, in the other hand iPhone 4s is very user friendly and has got all you would want out of a phone. Its a  all in one gadget. It's up to you to decide if you want this phone or not. If you like a user - friendly and easy to use mobile, you should obviously go for iPhone 4s but if you like to customize you phone and like cool party tricks, I would recommend you to go for Android Smartphones. Overall, it is a pretty good phone. It delivers all you would want out of a phone. I would rate it 8 out of 10 if I really had to!

What to look for when you are buying a mobile?

You are not sure which mobile you are going to buy next? Guess what? I have got a great solution for you.Doesn't matter if you are looking for a smartphone or just a simple mobile. It also doesn't matter if you are looking for a cheap or a very expensive and luxurious mobile. I have all the solution in this post.

First of all, it's you whose's to decide what kind of phone you want? Is it just a simple and cheap phone meant for calling, texting, and browsing internet? Or, is it meant for heaving gaming and playing HD movies.

If you are looking for a cheap mobile, I would say you go for Spice brand, Orion, ZTE brand, Samsung or even Nokia. Nokia and Samsung offer all kind of phones. You can buy mobiles starting from 50$ to 200$ in this range without any contract. Isn't that just great? In addition they have dual SIM slot which means you can use two SIM card at once. This sure is a great technology. Also, some of these phones are JAVA powered which means JAVA applications are well supported. In the other hand some of the mobile devices don't support JAVA but they sure have some pre-installed apps. They have good signal reception and offer many decent features. You are short on buy, you should probably go for these mobiles. Also, if you don't think you can use the awesome features of smartphone, I urge you not to buy them. I said this because I have seen many people(especially oldies) who have great smartphone but don't you any function except calling and texting their buddies.

If you are high on cash, I can recommend you to buy smart phones powered by Android Operating System. These phones are next to PC's and tackle iOS (iPhone's Operating System) badly. They are affordable, reliable and boast powerful processor and GPU. Some Brands which produce great Smartphones are HTC, Samsung, Motorola, LG and Apple. You can check out their phones at GSMarena.com. These phones have dual core processor (some even have quad-core processor) and are fast and quick at performing operations. They have great applications and games. Once you begin using these phones, you will never miss your PC. So, go and look out for these phones.

15 Battery Saving Tips for Android Devices

We all know that with a very powerful processor and a big screen, even a 1800mAh battery cannot hold your phone for long. People sure feel frustrated when they can't access their phone when they really want to. Android powered phones are great but they also suck the power of your beast very fast.

But things can be done which will most probably increase your battery life by 60 % !!!! You don't even have to worry about getting it charged during day time. These tips can really come handy as they are all for free(expect one or two). You will be amazed to know that most of the battery of your smartphone goes in useless things like ads and background running applications which eat up all your processes. By simply following these tips, you not only save your battery but can also make your device blazing fast.

So, here are those handy tips I urge you all to follow in order to have better battery in your smartphone.

1)Reduce Brightness of your phone

Battery size of your device can certainly be improved by just decreasing the brightness of your phone. Don't keep it on full as it is basically not required. Keep it at as low as possible. You can do it  by going to Settings > Display > Brightness and moving the slider over toward the left. If you like the effect, try checking "automatic brightness," which makes your device adapt to the lighting conditions around you. When you are indoors you can set the brightness to minimum and outdoors you can increase it a bit.

2) Turn Off Live Wallpapers

I know the live wall papers are preety but they aren't worth your battery. Just by doing this you can save 4% of your battery per charge.Consider switching to a static wallpaper if you're trying to squeeze every last available minute out of your device's battery. To change your device's wallpaper, long press on your home screen and select "Wallpapers" from the pop-up menu(May not be available in all Handsets).

3) Turn Off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and other Services

Only turn on these features when you are really using it. Keeping it on all the time drains your battery very fast. Avoid turning it on and off very frequently. You can disable these features by going to the Settings and then Wireless and Features. Also, you can take your phone into Aeroplane mode when you are really not using SIM functions like calling or texting your friends. Also, stay in places with good network which helps in increasing battery backup.

4) Remove Unnecessary Home screens

Yeap, I know that most of the phones today enable you to have seven customizable homescreen. But, that doesn't mean that you use them all. Keep it limited and keep only as much as you need. Remove live Widgets and keep your home screen plain. This will surely save up your battery life a lot. I think no one would you more than 5 homescreens in reality.

5) Use Battery Saving Software

We recommend you to use battery saving software which kill up all the battery sucking services that we usually don't use.Juice Defender (download JuiceDefender or JuiceDefender Ultimate from the Android Market) if you're having battery trouble. This highly customizable app can do anything from monitoring what's eating your battery to putting a targeted lockdown on your most power-hungry apps. You get softwares(apk) like that a lot in the Play(Android Market) now a days. So, get one of those if you really want better battery backup.

6) Find out what is eating up your battery

Navigate to Settings > About Phone > Battery Use to see an organized breakdown of what's consuming your phone's battery. If you want free up memory as well you can do it by first tracking the source. Applications and features will display in a descending list of battery hogs. If you see an application you barely use or a feature you never use, uninstall the app or turn off the feature.

7) Set a shorter Screen Time-Out

I am sure you wouldn't want your battery to run out even when you are not using it. If so, set a shorter Screen Time-Out time i.e., 10 seconds or less.  It may not save much but it surely will help a bit. Make sure the light dims as well when the phone is not in use. This may increase your battery life like upto 4 %. It doesn't look much it really helps you one way or the other. The quicker your display goes off, the more battery you save. You can get this setting under Display in Settings.

8) Close down all the Running Applications

Let's not be too lazy. After using a application, immediately kill it. Don't let any application to run in the background. Clear open application from time to time.  Clear your recently opened apps as well. You can also free up memory(RAM) from the settings. This simple tips can significantly improve you device's battery life. It's easy enough to clear the recent apps from your phone. At least close all the recent apps before going to bed.

9) Don't play too much games
Games are fun and everyone knows that but games are the main energy sucker/drainer. Games can make your phone go off in less than 4 hours! You can play games doesn't mean that you play game all the time. Let your device rest for a while to prevent it from overheating. Play small games like Temple Run and try to avoid HD games as they suck too much power. If possible play the game by muting the sound.

9) Watch Less Movies and especially HD Movies

Watching movies in your phone especially HD movies really drain your battery and I mean pretty fast. I don't think you need to watch HD video in your small 4 inch smartphone. qHD videos will do fine. You won't see much of graphics difference either.

10) Disable Automatic Updates

Automatic updates are really cool. You don't have to worry about searching for your update no more. But we tend to forget that in this process, our battery life is drained too fast. The phone keeps searching update from time to time and for different applications. So, it's better to do manual updating and saving your battery life. Also look out for live widgets which goes on looking for updates. Also the weather widget can be set to update 4 times a day instead of updating every 30 minutes.

11)Charge your phone whenever you can
Prevention is better then cure. So, don't let the "Battery Low" notification appear in your phone in the first place. Whenever you have your charger around you, find a wall socket and charge it. Also not letting you battery dry out saves your battery life. Never take risk of getting your battery dead. If possible carry your charger wherever you go. Keep a extra charger with you or in your bag.

2) Check for System Updates

Sometimes your OS or the UI is the cause of our phone's battery drainage. They are always patches and updates from the mobile company which helps you to enhance your mobile's battery backup. We have seen many improvement in battery backup after updates which solves battery sucking issues. Even the recent HTC One X battery life issue was resolved via system update. Don't do third party updates.

13) Install a fresh ROM
If the tips given above doesn't work for you , you can get a fresh ROM to resolve the battery backup issues. There are also some ROM's especially designed for solving your battery backup issues. You can visit http://www.xda-developers.com/ for Roms you want.

14) Switch from 4g to 3g

The 3g radio uses a lot less power than its 4G counterpart so. If you’re willing to trade speed for battery life, you can disable 4G in the Wireless and Networks section of the control panel. You will get over an hour extra by switching to the 3g Network. Switching to  3g network will act as energy saver mode and to be honest 3g isn't slow either. But the choice is yours. You want the battery life or the speed.

15) Get a Third-party  Extended Life Battery

If no other solution work for you. I recommend you to go and visit amazon.com where you get a lot of third party extended battery for your device. These battery can improve you backup significantly up to 30%-40%. And the best part is that it doesn't cost you much either.

Follow all these tips and you wont have to worry about the battery backup of your device for ages. Stay updated with this blog(gadgetneed.blogpsot.com) for more interesting articles. Stay tuned.
