ASUS Google Nexus 7 Review

Are you really thinking buying the new Google Nexus 7, then you should see the quick demo by TechnoBuffalo review on Youtube. However, there are few draw backs on this device that you should bear in mind before you purchase one.
  1. Lack of a rear camera plus no cam application to launch!
  2. No SD card slot - that means you are stuck with the built in storage 8/16GB.
  3. Connectivity - WiFi only
  4. No flash support (UK version) for the time being.
Worthy buying it?
It depends on personal preferences, but we could vouch with this guy for its price just under £200 for 16GB version plus its powerful CPU a quad-core Tegra 3 processor and 1GB RAM. Therefore, if you travel a lot or want something to enjoy while on the move, then Nexus 7 would be the best option to think of in the current market.

Microsoft gives Office a 2013 unveiled

Immediately after the Windows 8 release, it's no surprise that Microsoft is revealing its next Office suite. However, what may surprise us is that Office 2013 is not really designed for Windows 8. It's a suite with many remarkable enhancements, but it is not finger friendly though.
Office 2013, as expected, is built to work on multiple types of devices, and as a result, the software has been crafted to work via touch, a stylus, mouse or keyboard.

Price?
Microsoft will be selling them in the usual bundles for home, school and business use, but will also, for the first time, extend the Office 365 subscription to consumers. That means that, for a fixed monthly or annual fee, you will be able to access the latest Microsoft Office software on the Web, and download it on any device, including Macs and PCs, and whatever mobile devices where an Office software suite is currently available.

Please see the preview demo video from CNET below here to experience how it works on programs running on computers, a phone and a tablet.

Google Nexus 7

Google, the world giant web search has unveiled one the most powerful tablet we have ever encountered. Hence, we can vouch for its worth every penny for it is a combination of quad-core Tegra 3 processor with 1GB RAM and either 8GB or 16GB of internal storage.
However, like other Nexus-branded devices, the Nexus 7 tablet isn't actually hardware manufactured by Google.

Nevertheless, It's a challenge move: Among Android tablets, the company makes some of the best around, but matching the rock-bottom $199 (£130) price of Amazon's Kindle Fire whilst surpassing its scarce specs would be a challenge for any manufacturer.

Hardware:
CPU: quad-core Tegra 3 processor
RAM: 1GB (1024MB)
Display: seven-inch 1200 x 800 HD backlit IPS.
STORAGE: 8/16GB internal storage only
WEIGHT: 340 grams
CAMERA: 1.2MP front-facing camera
PORTS: micro-USB port and 3.5mm headphone jack

Bottom Line:

>Quad core processor                                       >
No camera
>Very fast processor (1300 MHz)                       >
The camera lacks flash
>Lots of RAM (1024 MB RAM)                           >
Lacks microSD slot for storage expansion
>NFC

PS3 Firmware 4.21 is out : Mandatory Update

The history has repeated once again. Last time, just after a week of release of firmware 4.10, the firmware 4.11 was out which was supposed to fix some bugs related to PSN (PlayStation Network). Don't know about you guys, but in a country like mine where there is slow internet connection, downloading 200MB data two times 5 hours is quite frustating. Further, you won't be allowed to go online or sign into PSN until and unless you have updated your PS3 firmware.

Like always, the update 4.21 is called optical but one still has to go through it to access PSN and online gaming. So, it is to be called mandatory, isn't it? Further, this update brings nothing new along and Sony has just stated "Software Stability in this update" and that's all. For people who don't want to update still will have to to get nothing. If this is what Sony will be doing, don't be surprised to see PS3 Firmware 6.00 in the near future.

For those who are patiently waiting for the Custom/Modified Firmware of PS3, all you can do is wait. There's no firmware higher than 3.56 which can be hacked.

P.S. : If you want to but cheap PS3 games, go to Ebay.com or                 Amazon.com and buy second hand (mint condition) blue-ray games for around 7$ to 10$

iOS's Siri VS Android's Google Voice Search

Siri was the first voice assistant which really understood us. Also, the reply came in quick with was a plus point. Although, it wasn't as talking to a human itself, it was very close to that and everyone was very impressed about that fact. And then, came S-Voice for Samsung Galaxy SIII (Android) which we thought would be a big nice challenge for Siri but it wasn't . Siri turned out to be much faster and had more data library. Also, S-Voice kind of made Samsung galaxy SIII slow and laggy. And the fair conclusion was "Siri is the voice assistant out there in the market." It was a big let down for Galaxy S3 users as well as Android community. You can check out the comparison between Apple's Siri and Samsung's S-Voice in the other post of my blog.

It was Apple's day then. Google's Android wasn't going to sit quiet and it didn't either. Along with the Android 4.1 (JellyBean) came in Google's own voice called "Google Voice Search". So, let's get the battle between Siri and Google Voice Search going. To start off with, Google Voice Search has more natural human voice than that of Siri. It is also comparatively faster than Siri while giving answers. In addition to that, Google Voice Search's data base is also way too larger than that of Siri. Further, Google Voice Search can understand us more clearly and can be called close to "perfect". So, for now Google Voice Search is a clear winner. It's time for iOS to go underground and bring some improvement in it's voice assistant "Siri". You can check out the comparison on the video below where Google Voice Search is a clear winner!

Green Architecture Design of Gimpo Art Hall by Gansam Partners

G.Lab of Gansam Partners, Seoul-based architects was design of green architecture concept building of Gimpo Art Hall. Located on the eastern end of a city block, the art hall emphasizes pedestrian access by incorporating a friendly walk into the design. The building mass is also lifted above the street level to create a covered pedestrian plaza.  Aesthetically, the structure sprouts from the ground, branches, multiplies, and envelopes the building. This structural-aesthetic reinforces Gimpo’s roots and modernization, while creating an interesting play on light and shadow. A Floating Theater nested inside the building volume allows for varying degrees of apertures which punctuate views from the interior and reveal the cityscape below.

Unique Architecture Concept, Edge House by Mobius Architects

The Edge House, designed by Poland-based Mobius Architects, occupies an excavated niche on a limestone hillside in Cracow. Construction on the home recently commenced, and these conceptual renderings illustrate its unorthodox site conditions. Aside from its site, the Edge House’s most striking feature is a front elevation dominated by a steep, shingled roof, pierced by windows and a large terrace jutting over the site of a former quarry. The roof was necessitated by local building codes, which don’t allow for roofs with less than 30 degree slopes. Mobius Architects embraced the boundaries of the project and created a design which employs traditional architectural language, but is distinctly modern. Construction is expected to be completed at the end of the year.

Amazing Concept Gadget Designs (10pics)

Life is all about technology and gadgets now. It is an interesting observation that now concept gadget designs are given more importance and consideration than those that exist in real. Perhaps the reason for this is the fast pace of human evolution and our ability to get as much diverse as possible.
Over the past year I have come across some amazing concept gadget designs some of which have the ability to make it to production while some are so idealistic that we may not see them in reality even in the next 100 years but in all cases the ideals are really cool and mind blowing. Check them out:
1. Mobile Phone Instant Concept
mobile_phone_instant_concep.jpg
Call it the recyclable mobile phone or the disposable mobile well thats up to you but it is definitely a cool concept gadget design. It can be branded with company logos and casing and its paper-like nature makes it disposable enough to be thrown away after making at least one call. Perhaps this concept gadget design is one of the not-coming-in-the-next-100-years kind.
2. Swatch "Infinity" Concept Watch
swatch-infinity_watch01.jpg
Trust me! this watch is like no other that you have seen before. It is a concept watch design presented by Swatch under the name "Infinity" and features video, mp3 music and photo sharing. The concept is not too idealist considering we have seen the LG Phone Watch already.
3. Nokia Aeon Concept
aeon-concept-1.jpg
The Nokia Aeon Concept Design features the full-surface touch technology. Means that the whole phone is just a piece of glass operated by hand gestures and motions. Plus it senses the environment and changes its look accordingly.
4. Napkin PC
napkin_pc.jpg
This is another one of those concept gadget designs that won't enter the real world unless some sort of breakthrough or miracle happens. Perhaps in the future computers will be cheaper than napkins and when such a time arrives we will have the napkin PCs.
5. Vista Fridge Magnet Concept
fridge-magnet-concept.jpg
Have you ever used fridget magnets? Of course! they are those little useless piece of magnets used as placeholders for sticky notes and other useless stuff. Well things have changed now with the Vista Fridget Magnet Concept as it will allow you to watch movies, listen to music, keep notes right on your desk fridget-top.
6. Nokia 888 Social Phone Concept
Well, phones are already meant to help you socialize and interact with humans but what if if your phone was flexible enough to be a part of your daily routine and activities? Nokia 888 does the same for you. This bracelet-like concept phone will take any form depending upon your mood and flavor. It will notify you about your dates and important events and will be there for you whenever you want it.
7. Solar Powered Notebook Concept
solar-notebook1.jpg
Notebook computers always fall on power whenever you need them the most. Charging the notebook batteries again and again can be quite tiresome and boring job. Worry not! because this Solar Powered Notebook is designed to run using solar energy. The built-in solar panel acts as a power supply to the notebook and even if notebook is low on batteries, the sun is always there to power it up.
8. iRing
iring.jpg
iRing is for the iPod fans and addicts who just can't do anything without listening to music on their iPod. The ring is just like a normal ring that you can wear on any one of your fingers. Through bluetooth connectivity, the ring will allow you to control music playback and volume on your iPod wirelessly.
9. Vaio Zoom
vaio_zoom.jpg
The Vaio Zoom concept notebook computer takes Holographic technology to a next level by making a completely transparent computer architecture. The keyboard goes opaque when the computer is turned off and the screen becomes totally transparent.
10. P-Per Concept Mobile
pper.jpg
It is definitely here to beat the iPhone. The P-Per Concept Mobile is idealized on a 4-layer structure where everything is about "touch" and "execute". Its form factor and style is what blows my mind away. Also, it has support for Wi-Fi and live video feeds.

the milan-born and now alaska-based artist paola pivi has conceived of 'how I roll' an art installation for new york city's public art fund. the artwork features  an endlessly turning six-seat piper seneca plane held aloft by its wings joined to two steel columns and powered by a strong motor system. pivi's piece is open  to the public twenty-four hours a day, made secure by a chain-link fence encircling the entirety of the plane's 360 degree range of motion. 'how I roll' is displayed  in central park's doris c. freedman plaza on 60th and 5th avenue and is part of a sculpture series by the artist formed from monstrous machines stripped of their  typical function given a new range of movement or turned upside down.

Hiranao Tsuoboi’s LED Watch concept

This watch by Hironao Tsuboi is for the high-tech minimalist — it’s faceless, so it is a simple watch band but upon closer inspection you can see that there are cutouts for digital numbers to show through. LED lights shine the time through the stainless steel links.
