Unofficial sources has confirmed facebook looking to buy WhatsApp. However, this is a gentle move for Facebook because WhatsApp is available on a number of different platforms and has a staggering 100 million daily active users globally, serving few billion messages every day. The mobile app is currently the number-two paid app in the US Apple App Store, where it sells for $0.99. On Google Play, it’s free for the first year, and then $0.99 per year thereafter.
Why Facebook wants for this deal?
Facebook previously bought Instagram for $1Billion not very long, although that number is mostly reflected in now reduced stock options. It’s not clear why Facebook would buy WhatsApp but there are a few possibilities, including augmenting or even gutting the unreliable Facebook Chat and there is of course the legion of WhatsApps users.
