PS Vita to be the last portable gaming console from Sony!
PSP was one of the most popular hand-held gaming console with breath taking graphics ( at least at that time!) all packed in a beautifully crafted portable device. It not only was a gaming console but a multimedia powerhouse! From playing videos to browsing Internet, it stopped at nothing. Observing the success of PSP, Sony launched PS Vita, the successor of the now dead PSP.
However, PS Vita is having hard time to get noticed among the public. Though, it isn't overpriced as the first batch of PS3, there are things which make it undemanding. Had there not been smartphones, trust me, PS Vita would have rocked the world. Unfortunately, the highly speced Smartphones are killing vita day by day. Smartphones of today have high resolution screen which till date have extended up to full HD which packs much more pixels than PS Vita. The game library of Android and iOS is also way larger than that of PS Vita.
PS Vita is good, no doubt about that but people want something more. They want one gadget that can do it all and smartphone is the only answer for that. If phones can make calls, browse the Internet, play movies and let us play games, then why bother to get a gaming console which doesn't make phone calls or take superb photos?
PS vita hasn't been doing well and won't make any further progress either. The games look good than any other hand-held I have got ever hold of. The graphics are intense and the gameplay is good and is par to the graphics of PS3. But, people wouldn't and won't prefer to have smartphone in one of their pocket and Vita in the other. The other reason is the high price of PS Vita games and propitiatory memory sticks. While most Android and iOS games cost below 5$, PS Vita games cost above 50$ which is too expensive to say the least! People are getting into gaming in smartphones and don't show any sign of changing their platform for playing games.
PS Vita is dying and dying very fast. It looks as though PS Vita won't impress people and new generation of Gaming console seems out of question. I, hereby want to state that PS Vita will be the last portable gaming console from Sony. Long live PS Vita! There are very few people who look for dedicated portable gaming console as they see smartphone as their means of playing gaming. Either Sony has to bring something revolutionary to get back in the game or they will have to call PS Vita the last of portable hand-held gaming device.This is it for now guys. The camera is the Nexus 4 is really good. It takes very good pictures with accurate tone. However, colours are sometimes dull and look unpleasant. For some, it may be a good news as photo editing becoming quite easy due to its dull nature. There is a default Photo Editor in Nexus 4 pre-installed which makes photo editing handy.

Nexus 4 has got a single led flash light on its rear camera which goes too bright but only when needed. The same led flash can be used while video recording. Turning ON HDR on Nexus 4 while taking a photo is recommended as it takes superb photo when HDR is turned on. The low light performance of the Nexus 4 however is not that good. It is just acceptable. The microphone on the other hand is great and noise cancellation is done perfectly as well. The front facing camera is a 1.3 MP camera which takes decent photos and can record video in 720p HD. The shutter speed is average and can take 2 to 3 snapshots in a second.

Will Nexus 4 be the Last Nexus Smartphone!!!
First, we had the Htc Nexus one, then Samsung Galaxy Nexus S and then Samsung Galaxy Nexus and finally we have the Nexus 4. The biggest question at this time of the year is whether Google will release the newer version of Nexus Smartphone. Normally, the answer without a doubt would be yes. However looking into the current scenario it is really hard to say.
The first reason why Nexus 4 can be the last of Nexus device is the fact that now Google owns Motorola and there are high chances that Google will be releasing newer smartphones under the name of Motorola Mobility. They have even given Motorola a new logo and call it a Google company. There are several rumours which suggest Google will sell newer devices under the name Motorola X phone. This seems likely as Google will be able to profit from hardware as well if they unleash a smartphone from their own stable.
The other reason why Nexus 4 can be the last of Nexus breed is the fact there are other Nexus like devices which run on stock Android. HTC One Google Edition and Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Edition both run on stock Android and have upper hand in terms of Hardware specs. There are several rumours which suggest that we will be seeing Sony Xperia Z Google Edition later this year. These phones will get early updates just as fast as Nexus 4. Google has ditched many programs earlier and ditching Nexus branding phones can be one of them.
Has Nexus branding finally lost its ground? Or will we see Nexus 5 around the end of the year? To know that all we can do is wait. The killer feature of Nexus 4 is the price. Are Smartphones getting too big??!!!
Remember the time when people said iPhone was too big o fit in the hand? Do you remember the time when people bashed Samsung for creating a phone with 4" screen? Things have changed quite a lot in a few years. Now, iPhone is considered too small. Even the iPhone 5 with a 4" screen is categorized as a small sized smartphone.
People have stated taking smartphone as a multimedia device more than a daily driver phone! When Samsung unleashed the Samsung Galaxy Note I (GT-N700 ), people were like, "Oh my God! For whom is this phone made?".Surprisingly enough, the Note series have been a great hit! Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and LG Optimus G Pro are two great examples of how big a phone really can be! People really enjoy carrying smartphone which looks and feels enormous. The smartphone size has become so big people can barely carry them around. Some of them even don't fit in our pockets!

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3.0 Pricing
Samsung Galaxy Tab 3.0 which is the successor of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 is expected to be a hot selling tablet, thanks to its price point. Although, this is no official announcement about the price point of this tablet from Samsung, its price got revealed Adorama which is expected to ship Samsung's tablet. It will be sold for 199$ for 8GB model.
And we don't see any reason why it won't be sold for that price because most of its specification match with that of the Tab 2. It will be sold for 199$ for 8GB model with micro-sd expansion available.

Onida Phone for India, Meant to Cost Less Than $5
Philippe Daguillon is aware of the problems that India is facing and imagined a handset that will fit this market. He created the Onida cellphone, a very affordable handset, that’s supposed to cost less than $2. In India 80% of the population lives with $2 a day and can be illiterate, according to the designer.
This is a phone for illiterate persons, share in the Indian community and packing a low price. I don’t mean any of these as an insult to India, these are pure statistics. The cover for the Onida phone is also a wallet and as you can see the device is very simple, with a small display showing signal, battery, time and carrier, with some numeric keys, a messaging button, a call and end call button and an up and down button. Considering the fact that the idea of the Aakash tablet with a $35 price tag came to life in India, maybe this phone will be turned to reality, too.

Samsung Galaxy S4 - Eye-tracking smartphone landed
The long waited Samsung Galaxy S4 unveiled by Samsung yesterday on March 14 2013 at Radio City Music Hall in New York. The new smart phone, Galaxy S4, with features like photos with sound from a 13MP rear-facing camera, language translation, group media streaming, infrared gesture control and more.

The S4 is still impressive light, weighing in just above 130g, with new addition of a solid metallic banding around the side of the phone. It's also slimmer than Galaxy S3, the previous version the has been released back 2012, with the phone measuring 136.6x69.8x7.9mm alongside packing in full 5 inch HD Super AMOLED screen.Hardware
The 5-inch, 441 pixel-per-inch Super AMOLED display on the S4 includes "Air Gesture" capabilities that allows users to interact with the screen without actually touching it.
Rounding out the new component set is a plastic body measuring 5.3 inches long by 2.7 inches wide and 7.9mm thick. The S4 runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box on a 1.9GHz quad-core or 1.6GHz octa-core processor and comes with 16GB of storage standard, with options for 32GB or 64GB, while all models come with a MicroSD slot. Powering the device is a 2,600mAh battery.

Sony Xperia Z / Yuga
Whether it will be called the Xperia Z or the Yuga doesn’t really matter. The fact remains that one of the most hotly anticipated gadgets of 2013 is set to be the first phablet from Sony. It’s rumoured to be water and dust-resistant have a 5-inch screen and measure 139 x 71 x 7.9mm.
At its heart will be a quad-core Qualcomm APQ8064 chipset with Adreno 320 graphics, with great graphics results reported from an early prototype - just the ticket to power the Full HD 1080p display. Expect a CES2013 launch.

Samsung Galaxy S IV
Nothing official has been said, but you can bet Samsung will be keen to release a fourth version of its flagship Samsung Galaxy S smartphone. Will it have a flexible screen, an even bigger 5-inch screen, the ability to make a cup of tea, or will Samsung go retro and shrink the whole device to finally fit in any pocket.
The verdict is still very much out, well at the start of 2013 is it, but that hasn't stopped people having a go at making a hands-on video of what they want the SGS4 to look like.

Set for a January 30 launch date, we've already started to see a number of "leaks" surrounding RIMs new BlackBerry 10 operating system as the company tries to ensure its survival. BlackBerry fans can expect two new phones to kick off the proceedings - an all touchscreen affair and a traditional QWERTY keyboard model akin to the BlackBerry Bold already on the market.
With a stack of new and exciting features in the operating system already, RIMs job won't be convincing people they've got great hardware and a great OS, but that their favourite apps will be available to. Successful launch or not, many are expecting RIM to have to change dramatically if it is to make it through 2013 without being bought or going bust.

Major breakthrough in 3-D printing
Photonics West – the world's leading photonics, laser, and biomedical optics conference – took place this week in San Francisco. During the event, a German company called Nanoscribe GmbH presented the world's fastest 3D printer of micro- and nanostructures.
Nanoscribe's latest printer allows the smallest three-dimensional objects – often smaller than the width of a human hair – to be manufactured with minimum time consumption and maximum resolution, using a novel laser lithography method. Replacing conventional electronics with optical circuits of higher performance, its polymer waveguides can reach a data transfer rate of more than 5 terabits (Tb) per second. Printing speed is increased by a factor of about 100, with jobs that previously took several hours now being possible in a matter of minutes.
This huge increase in speed is possible thanks to a galvo mirror system, a technology that is also applied in laser shows and the scanning units of CD and DVD drives. Reflecting a laser beam off the rotating galvo mirrors facilitates rapid and accurate laser focus positioning. This video is shown in real-time:
This ultra-precise fabrication allows feature sizes ranging down to just 100 nanometres (nm). At present, the total area of the scanning field is limited to a few hundred micrometres (μm) due to the optical properties of the focusing objective. Just as floor tiles must be joined precisely, the respective scanning fields must be connected seamlessly and accurately. However, by using a patented autofocus technique and high-precision positioning stages, areas can be extended almost arbitrarily by a so-called stitching process.
Martin Hermatschweiler, the managing director of Nanoscribe GmbH: "We are revolutionising 3D printing on the micrometre scale. Precision and speed are achieved by the industrially established galvo technology. Our product benefits from more than a decade of experience in photonics, a key technology of the 21st century."

FDA clears first autonomous telemedicine robot for hospitals
RP-VITA, created by iRobot and InTouch Health, enables doctors to provide patient care from anywhere in the world via a telemedicine solution.
US technology firm, iRobot Corp., has announced that its RP-VITA Remote Presence Robot has received 510(k) clearance by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in hospitals. RP-VITA is the first autonomous navigation remote presence robot to receive such authorisation.
This new machine is a joint effort between two industry leaders, iRobot and InTouch Health. The robot combines the latest in autonomous navigation and mobility technologies developed by iRobot with state-of-the-art telemedicine and electronic health record integration developed by InTouch Health. RP-VITA allows remote doctor-to-patient consults, ensuring that the physician is in the right place at the right time and has access to the necessary clinical information to take immediate action. The robot has unprecedented ease of use. It maps its own environment and uses an array of sophisticated sensors to autonomously move about a busy space without interfering with people or other objects. Using an intuitive iPad interface, a doctor can visit a patient, and communicate with hospital staff and patients with a single click, regardless of their location.
The FDA clearance specifies that RP-VITA can be used for active patient monitoring in pre-operative, peri-operative and post-surgical settings – including cardiovascular, neurological, prenatal, psychological and critical care assessments and examinations.
RP-VITA is being sold into the healthcare market by InTouch Health as its new flagship remote presence device. iRobot will continue to explore adjacent market opportunities for robots like RP-VITA and the iRobot Ava mobile robotics platform.
Colin Angle, chairman and CEO of iRobot: "FDA clearance of a robot that can move safely and independently through a fast-paced, chaotic and demanding hospital environment is a significant technological milestone for the robotics and healthcare industries. There are very few environments as difficult to maneuver as that of a busy ICU or emergency department. There are lots of future technological concepts and innovations floating around the internet, and none so compelling as the implementation of holographic display and infra red keyboard. As far-fetched as they may look, the implementation of these features is already there and just waiting to get the perfect boost.
A case in point is the patent filed by Apple on 11th August 2011, where it unveiled plans to integrate mini orpico-like projectors into future devices. Integration of the projector would enable the user project video or image data presentation on any surface or better still, anywhere without a surface.
The same technology will also be used to further keyboard enhancement. Infrared keyboards should help smartphone users type and interact with much larger and friendly keyboard.
With this technology the phone projects a virtual keyboard on a surface before the user who then enters data as if he were using a laptop keyboard.
Some think that Apple may after all integrate this technology in the upcoming iPhone 5. Whether this technology is integrated or not in the next iPhone, it surely must be the trend for 2013.

Budget iPhone
Samsung Galaxy Mini
The rumor has always been there for about two years and 2013 seems to be the year that Apple will finally bow down and produce a budget iPhone!
The proposed budget iPhone will be priced at about half the normal figure that Apple charges for top of the bar iPhones.
Reports from the Guardian indicate that the new iPhone is primarily set to for the Chinese market. It is then obvious that the cheap iPhones will also be shipped elsewhere in Asia, Africa and south America. Reports indicate the phone should be out for sale by around December 2013.
The apparent need for a cheap iPhone is being made a necessity following the successes by Samsung with its versions of Samsung Galaxy mini. Samsung upgraded the old mini to Galaxy Mini II in 2012.
Another clue to Apple’s dive for a cheap iPhone is the release and apparent success of the iPad Mini in 2012. As Apple is working on the iPad mini for 2013, an equally cheaper iPhone will be welcome news.
